Production notes

The plate was made at my studio in Sorrento. It was later printed at my workshop at West Brunswick, Victoria. Initially I printed an edition of 10 from this plate, then I made this monoprint. Yellow ink was applied to the plate 1st then black ink on top and when subsequently printed, the yellow has penetrated through to give flecks of yellow light. It has had only the one printing to create the duo-tone. See pg 76 for reproduction of edition See pg 78 for text information. This work was created from an old drypoint plate of Dimboola 1 - see page 42 of monograph. It was then re-worked on top at Sorrento. Hence it merges the mark making from the little desert with the tea-tree inspired forms from the Mornington Peninsula. The underlying Dimboola marks are made with a simple drypoint tool. The top forms using an electric die grinder tool.
