Subject description

Simeon Lord (1771-1840) established his watermill at Botany Bay, New South Wales, to provide the power for the manafacture of shoes, hats, harness and textiles. The watermill was still operating in 1855. Mill Pond and Engine Pond remain as a reminders of Lord's industry.
