Abstract

In 1980's Wollongong, a street poster culture of creativity and political dissent grew out of a period of unemployment in the city.
Redback Graphix was a local art collective, and the posters that were once pasted up in the streets are now held by national art galleries.
But there was a lasting legacy, in more ways than one.
Story by Nicole Curby, additional production by Ross Kay.
