Gil Jamieson

 

Born in Monto, Queensland in 1934, Gil Jamieson worked on a farm there. After studying art at the Brisbane Technical College with Melville Haysom from 1956 to 1957, he returned briefly to farming in 1958 before moving to Melbourne in 1959 where he exhibited regularly. Subsequently he moved back to Monto where he continues to paint.

Primarily a painter, Jamieson made two or three unpublished etchings at the Melbourne Technical College in 1961.
