The Fine Arts — We are always glad to witness any encourage ment that is given to the arts amongst us, and we have therefore great pleasure in directing the attention of our Catholic friends, to a very correct and neatly executed lithographic portrait of the Rev. J. C. Sumner, just published. The drawing is by Mr. Rodius, and the likeness is remarkably good. The portrait will, we have no doubt, meet with ready sale among the admirers of the rev. gentleman, as it may be obtained at Messrs. Kern and Mader's for the small sum of two shillings. As a specimen of colonial art, it does great credit to the lithographer Mr. J. Allan. [The People's Advocate and New South Wales Vindicator, 9 February 1850, page 4]
