Juanita Gabriel PRINTMAKER

Juanita has practised printmaking over thirty years, having initially studied fine art at the Johannesburg School of Art, South Africa and later studied at the National Art School, Sydney, Australia. She has an extensive portfolio of art works including woodcuts, linocuts, etchings, lithographs, aquatints, as well as fabric and paper screen prints and drawings. She established her studio in Canberra in 1998

Juanita’s figurative, original images and compositions are strongly influenced by mythology, prehistory, ancient cultures and motifs from the natural world, which record an enduring, collective consciousness of movement, dance, grace and beauty.
