The LOUIS NAPOLEON POLKA – Such is the title of the new Polka, composed by Francis Hartwell Henslowe, Esq., which is intended to be forwarded to the Paris Exhibition of 1855, and was lithographed and published by Mr. R.V. Hood of Liverpool –street in this city. It is the finest specimen of lithographic art which has been published in Tasmania, the frontispiece consisting of a very handsome scroll surmounted by the Gallic eagle and crown over the imperial ciphers, and clusters of the imperial banners and eagles, the former of these two being covered with imperial bees. The festoons of flowers, &c., are very gracefully designed, and even in such a cradle of the arts as in Paris, we have no doubt it will command great attention. As a composition the Polka is a favorite in Hobart Town.
