THE CONSEQUENCES OP PLACARDING. - Some time since, a lithographer named Lilley, residing at Brougham Place, having a dispute with Mr. Prout, the artist, about a roller used in the lithographic art, stuck up a number of placards in various parts of the town, stating that Mr. P. had retained the roller for the malicious purpose of injuring him (Lilley) in his business. Mr. Prout brought the case before the Police Court on Friday, by summoning Lilley for having published a false and malicious libel. After the case had been heard, Lilley was committed to take his trial for the offence.
