Two Arts In An Unusual Combined Show
THE needle can be as much an art medium as the pencil and as creative as the painter's brush, according to Mrs. Margaret Oppen, who will exhibit a number of embroideries at a joint exhibition with Miss Ethleen Palmer, to be opened at the Grosvenor Galleries on Tuesday by Miss Mander-Jones.
Mrs. Oppen does not design beforehand, but allows her imagination to develop the theme as she embroiders.
Miss Palmer, on the other hand, who is well known for her colour-prints, makes detailed sketches on the landscape before she works on her serigraphs.
