FORD having lately imported a large assortment of Prints by the best Masters, and being desirous to assist the different Societies already formed and in the course of formation, in promoting a taste for the fine arts in New South Wales, has resolved on having an Art Union, to consist of 100 Subscribers at one guinea each; ensuring to every member a prize, the average value of which will exceed the amount of each subscription.
In the short space of an advertisement it would be impossible to give a list of all the prints, but among them and forming the principal prizes are -
"A Shipwreck," by Turner, 39 x 29, framed
"Wreckers off Port Ronge," by Stanfield, 31 x 29, framed
Full length Portrait of Sir Robert Peel, 38 x 26 framed
Napoleon at Waterloo, 30 x 26, framed

The Glee Maiden, ditto

With a number of very elegant Prints containing Portraits of the principal Opera Dancers in various costumes, and on subjects of every kind, which cannot fail to interest.

The prizes will be drawn upon the same principle as those in England Ireland, and Scotland, and may be viewed between the hours of 10 and 5
The list, which is now open, will close on the 25th instant, W. Ford therefore invites an early application from those ladies and gentlemen who may wish to become members.
Subscribers will receive tickets entitling them to one share, upon payment of one guinea for each share
The prizes will be drawn two days after the closing of the list of which due notice will be given in the Herald.
