CONCERT. – A second concert of vocal and instrumental music will be given in the Music Hall, Collins Street, on Monday evening next, commencing precisely at seven o’clock. The programme includes choice selections from Arigotti, Donisetti, Cherubini, Verdi, Wallace, Lindpainter, and other masters. The duetto “Qual Mare”, from Verdi’s I. Masnadieri will be sang by Mr. Packer and a lady singer, whose organ is well spoken of. The beautiful song of “Pestal;” the aria: “Bear Witness,” from the very successful opera of Von Fiotow; and Donizetti’s duettino, “Follow Fay, follow Fairy,” are amongst the pieces chosen. The interior decorations of the hall are now completed, and reflect the great credit upon the genius of the artist Mr. Duke. The sides and roof are tastefully divided by pillars and panels into compartments filled with open landscape scenery. The hall will be brilliantly lighted with chandeliers and scouces, which will add to the effect of decorations and professional symbols tastefully disposed throughout the interior.
