The company is being formed to acquire and work the patent rights in the colony of Victoria of the Phíllip-Stephan" Photo -Litho and Typographic Process Company Limited in the above patented process, which is n new discovery in the photo-litho art. Its principal and main features are: - That in a perfect, cheap, and expeditious manner any photo negative Is placed upon stone, zinc, china, or other substance, giving all the delicate detail that no living artist would attempt to produce; and having done no, the stone may be worked in an ordinary litho. machine, or the zinc work may be used in a common printing press. Its incalculable worth is the commercial value of the process, which discloses an invention that will adapt itself to every branch of commerce by producing fac-similes of nature, portraits, animal life, re productions of oil painting and water-colour, buildings (external and internal) machinery, carriages, plans, posters, almanacs, catalogue work, and manufactures of all kinds at such a price that success is assured.

The vendors will transfer all their right, title, and interest for the colony of Victoria in the "Phillip Stephan” Photo-Litho, and Typographic Process Company Limited to the Victorian Company.

It is anticipated that no calls beyond the application and allotment money will be required, from tho fact that very large profits are derived from all classes of work: undertaken by the company, owing to the great saving in skilled and expensive labour effected by this patent. In making this statement, the promoters are guided by the success attained by a company working the same patent in Sydney.

The space of 9 [illeg] has been applied for and granted at tho Melbourne Exhibition, when a large display of artistic productions will be on view which are now being produced by the Sydney Company. The Victorian Company will receive one-half in all pictures &c., disposed of, this plan to remain in force until such time as the Victorian Company is in a position to carry out orders. It is confidently expected a large profit will be derived from the sale of views of the Exhibition. In the machinery annexe a Litho. Machine will be exhibited in full work, demonstrating, beyond a doubt, tho success that awaits the company’s operations.

As the only agreement entered into is one dated 14th May, 1888, and made between the “Phillip Stephan” Photo Litho and Typographic Process Company Limited, of Sydney, of the one part, and Henry Chambers, of 75 Castlereagh-street, Sydney, as trustee for and on behalf of the intended company, of the other part, and the same can be inspected at the offices of the company’s solicitors.

The consideration money for the sale to the Victorian Company shall be £50,000 - £10,000 in cash, £7500 in twelve months, £7,500 in two years, without interest, and 25,000 fully paid up shares.

LITHOGRAPHIC BRANCH.
One man, assuming he had 25 stones ready polished and clean, could in eight hours transfer 50 views or subjects, and make them ready for the lithographic press; the more delicate the detail the more effectual the process, and no drawing or artist's work is required.

The subject being placed on the stone, it works as easy as the best chalk drawing, and will produce as many impressions.

As the Photo-Negatives reproduces all the lights and shades of a picture, and as this process reflects the most minute items, it follows that you get details that it is impossible for the best artist to obtain, and, therefore, when you require colours, a better effect is produced with say five or six colours than would be by ten or twelve in the ordinary Chromo-Lithograph.

This process will reproduce any coloured plan, map, or other subjects no matter in what colour painted; thus; if a plan is coloured by the surveyor and taken to the ordinary lithographer, it will have to be re drawn on the stone or transfer paper; this clearly necessitates a new drawing, which is entirely avoided by the “Phillip-Stephan” process. In ordinary drawing the artist requires a photo, or drawing, which he has to re-trace; we obviate the difficulty by placing directly on the stone. There is no necessity to keep the key stone, as the photo-negative always supplies that whenever required at a less cost than one shilling, hence the great outlay required by ordinary lithography is avoided, and a great pecuniary saving is the result.

ZINCOGRAPHIC BRANCH.
This is a distinct branch, and quite as important as the lithographic, if not more so. In this process is obtained the same detail on zinc as on stone, and the enormous cost of artistic labour is dispensed with, though still preserving faithful representation and full detail of the subject worked upon. The negative is transferred to the zinc, and, having been etched, is available for tho ordinary printing press. By this method zinc blocks can be produced with a rapidity and cheapness which no other known process has yet been able to obtain, thereby assuring a very large profit to the company.
