PRIZE AUSTRALIAN CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CARDS.
JOHN SANDS,
374, George-street, Sydney
The designs selected by Mr. Sands from the Christmas Card Competition, inaugurated by him in May last, are now ready, and may be obtained at all booksellers and stationers in Australia.
These cards are essentially Australian in character, being designed by Australian artists, drawn on stone by Mr. Sands' own lithographers, and printed at his works as above. Purchasers wishing to obtain samples of this new colonial industry are requested to observe that each card bears on it Mr. Sands' trade mark - an Hour-glass. This caution is necessary, as numerous curds are being offered to the public which, although Australian in character, are of European production.
In addition to the cards of his manufacture, Mr. Sands has imported the most varied collection ever seen in the colonies. Those desirous of possessing cards selected with artistic taste, cannot do better than inspect his stock, which includes the various prize designs from the home competitions, together with the best productions from the principal English, Continental, and American manufacturers.
Mr. Sands has also on view the pictures gaining the premiums of One Hundred and Fifty Guineas at his late competitive exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
