View of Sydney. - Mr. Mader, of George-street, has just published a view of Sydney, taken from the high ground of Robinson's Point, North Shore, near the present residence of Captain Moriarty. The picture, which is of large dimensions, is one of Mr. Conrad Marten's most successful efforts. It is difficult from any one point to present the view of Sydney. At best, in consequence of the peculiar sites upon which the city is built, only a very partial representation, can be made from one given spot. From the point whence Mr. Marten's beautiful picture is taken, the line of the city from Fort Phillip along to the eastward, embracing the most prominent features and buildings, to Woolloomooloo, and in the distance Paddington and the Old South Head Road, are presented. The foreground gives a correct idea of the rocks, interspersed with trees and shrubs, of the opposite shore; and the waters of Port Jackson, so far as the locality permits, add a chaste and refreshing charm to the whole. The print is lithographed by Day and Son, of London, and is executed in their best style. We cordially recommend our readers to possess themselves of this choice piece of work.
