MONDAY, APRIL 8
TO PRINTERS, POLITICIANS, LITERARY MEN, AND OTHERS
MR SAMUEL LYONS
Has received instructions to dispose of by
public auction, at his Mart,
ON MONDAY, APRIL 8,
At 11 o’clock precisely,
THE WHOLE OF THE TYPES, PRESSES &c., of the late AUSTRALIAN NEWSPAPER and PRINTING OFFICE.
It is notorious that another Daily Paper is much needed in the metropolis, and any individual (or company) with capital, embarking in such an undertaking would be sure, if conducted in a liberal and enlightened manner, to realise a handsome return for the outlay.
Mr Lyons wishes particularly to impress upon the mind of the public, that the materials are in capital working order, and second in quantity to no office in Sydney; that only a week’s preparation would be necessary to produce and continue daily a paper equal (in size) to the Herald, and that such is the extent of the Jobbing Department, that no less than ten large broadsides could be set up at one time.
THERE ARE THREE PRESSES – A DOUBLE DEMY ALBION, A DOUBLY DEMY COLUMBIAN, AND A DEMY IMPERIAL; ALSO, A STANDING PRESS AND GLAZED BOARDS, PLOUGH, &c., WITH A GENERAL ASSORTMENT OF TYPE, FROM 30 LINE TO NONPAREIL.
Lists of the contents of the Office may be seen on application to Mr Lyons, who will give cards to intending purchases to inspect the materials.
Terms at sale.
