SOUTH AUSTRALIA. THE NEW HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT.- The Messrs. Calvert Brothers have just issued a pair of lithographic views, representing the interior of the Legislative Council Chamber and Legislative Assembly Hall respectively. The drawings have been made by Mr. Nicholas Chevalier, and they have been engraved by Mr. Cyrus Mason. Both pictures posses the merit of extreme fidelity, the accuracy with which the architectural details of each interior have been reproduced being scarcely less striking than that which is presented by a photograph. In the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Chevalier has introduced portraits of Messrs. Michie, Greeves, Aspinall, O'Shanassy, Syme, Blair, Hughes, and others; but the artist's propensity to caricature operates prejudicially in regard to some of these portraits, those of Messrs. Michie and Greeves more particularly. As specimens of colonial art, these engravings merit great praise, and they will be examined with interest by friends in England.
