PARRAMATTA.-FINE ARTS EXHIBITION.
Allusion was made some few weeks since to an exhibition of the fine arts being got up in aid of the funds of the Benevolent Society of this district. The collection of pictures has been progressing as favourably as could possibly be desired. The exhibition is appointed to open on the 20th instant, being also the day on which the recently formed Cumberland Agricultural, Horticultural, and Floral Society hold their maiden show of stock, fruit, &c. And as many visitors and supporters of this society from Sydney and the neighbouring districts have promised to be present, the promoters of the Fine Arts Exhibition have acted judiciously in availing themselves of an opportunity which will enable visitors to Parramatta, in the course of a single day's trip, to enjoy two most pleasurable sights. -Herald, October 1.
