May Khizam

 

May Khizam was born in Australia of Lebanese parents and is presently studying at Adelaide University. She is a member of the Multicultural Artworkers Committee. Established in 1985, the Visual Arts Studio is an open access community workshop space within the Multicultural Artworkers Committee. It is a studio space where community groups can use experienced personnel to develop their publicity and documentation, and develop projects which relate their common experiences and realities. Some of the collective projects realized are We helped build Australia, culminating in a screenprint exhibition, and A Bitter Song: Two Cities, Two Cultures, a multi-media exhibition integrating community screenprints onto painted panels forming an environmental streetscape. Current projects include a women's craft project incorporating some graphics and Artists Against Racism.
