Two nudes seated.

I began to feel I could handle figure drawing better now with the very restrictive silk screen. I was also aware of the need to remember that a silk screen print must always look like a print and not a painting - particularly a watercolour. Thus I did several groups of nude and standing figures first of all experimental, with some of the colours translucent. This was the first silk screen print I ever sold. The critic Clive Turnbull bought one before the opening of my first exhibition in 1946. I knew that he must have really liked the work.
