John Coburn

Born Ingham, Queensland 23 September 1925, John Coburn studied at the East Sydney Technical School from 1947 to 1950, where he subsequently taught from 1959 to 1966. Primarily a painter he has also designed tapestries for the Aubusson workshops, and produced screenprints and lithographs. His screenprints, the first of which was executed in 1958, were mainly printed by his wife Barbara. His first lithograph in 1962 was printed by Strom Gould.
