David Gillison
Born in Melbourne in 1936, David Gillison studied painting at the National Gallery School, Melbourne where he was awarded its travelling scholarship in 1959. From 1960 to 1962, Gillison studied painting at the Slade School in London where he was also taught lithography by Stanley Jones. He became an apprentice lithographer at the Curwen Studio, London from 1961 to 1963. Moving to the USA in 1963, he was apprentice at Byron Temple Studio concentrating on pottery and drawing.
