Abstract

Gordon Darling, Chairman of the Australian National Galley Council (June 1982-December 1986), first donated funds to the aquisition of contemporary Australian prints to celebrate the opening of the Gallery in 1982; then, in Australia's bicentenial year in 1988, he established the Gordon Darling Australiasian Print Fund with a capital grant of $1,000,000.
