Max Grierson
Born in Melbourne in 1941, Max Grierson completed the graphic art course at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1963. He works chiefly in woodcut, engraving and etching.
Grierson held two solo exhibitions in Melbourne, 1967 and 1983, and his work was seen in four group exhibitions in Victorian country centres and Melbourne, 1963-82. He taught art at secondary level in Victoria from 1963 to 1966 and between 1970 and 1982; he worked with the Inner London Education Authority from 1967 to 1970; was at the Melbourne School of Art from 1983 to 1984; and was head of art at Caufield Grammar School from 1985.
