From 1959 to 1963 he studied at Melbourne University, Melbourne Teachers’ College and Caulfield Institute of Technology (now Chisholm Institute), graduating as a secondary school art teacher. Between 1968 and 1970 Leti travelled in Europe and North America, and on his return to Melbourne, took up a position as an Education Officer at the National Gallery of Victoria. Between 1971 and 1975 he gained his Associate and Fellowship Diplomas in Printmaking from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Leti has since travelled extensively overseas. His first individual exhibition was held in Rome in 1969 and he continues to exhibit regularly.
