John Hovell

John Hovell was born in 1938 and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Diploma of Education. He lives at Te Araroa on the east coast of the North Island, Aotearoa, New Zealand where he first went to teach as well as to be near his mentor, the Maori carver Pine Taiapa. Hovell is a painter and has produced a number of lithographs.
