Giovanni Tipungwuti

Giovanni Tipungwuti started carving designs of birds and animals into wood blocks in the late 1960s. Together with Bede Tungutalum, he established the fabric printing company Tiwi Designs in 1969. His designs are often influenced by traditional motifs and include representations of the bushlife around the area of Bathurst Island.
