Helen Grey-Smith

 

Born in Coonor, India in 1916, Helen Grey-Smith studied at the London School of Interior Decoration from 1937 to 1939. It was here that she met and married the artist Guy Grey-Smith, with whom she moved to Western Australia in 1948. From 1952 to 1953 she studied textile printing at the Hammersmith School of Art.

Chiefly a textile printer, by both block and screen, she has done 4 serigraphs since 1954. Her works are represented in the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Queensland Art Gallery.
