Production notes
'The ink used on all these prints is water-based Schminke black ink which has a sealant to prevent it from smearing or breaking up when the wet colour is applied.. The ink is brushed all over the cut surface of the block. [...] The sheet of paper is laid over the inked block with care taken to keep it flat and prevent it creasing into the grooves of the cut block. A thin sheet of paper is placed over it to protect the printed sheet. The entire surface of the paper is carefully and thoroughly worked over with a baren and the outside curve of a wooden spoon to transfer the ink onto the sheet of paper underneath.'
