Townscape of Newcastle, N.S.W. looking north-east to entrance of Port Hunter with Nobby's Island in centre (now Nobby's Head and joined to the mainland). Present-day Stockton Peninsular is behind Christ Church (since replaced by Christ Church cathedral) at left.
