Notes
This very rare view is the second large separately published view of Sydney, and is generally assumed to be based on an original drawing by Thomas Watling, now lost. This print appears to have been published without the title, as often occurs with the well-known set of four Cleveley views of the Pacific of 1787. The framework of the ship shown is that of the brig "Portland" which was laid down by Hunter in 1797, but through lack of shipwrights was not launched until 1816, re-christened as the "Henrietta Elizabeth".
