Notes
The print is based on Apollinaire's poem "The Betrothal", which appears u.l.c. and c.c. and reads "In the end lies no longer/ frighten me There is the/ moon cooking like a fried/ eg This necklace of waterdrops is for the drowned/ girl And here is my bouquet. of Passion flowers Which/Put forth tenderly two/ crowns of thorns The str-/eets are wet with the rain/ of not long since disappearing/ All the holy day All the/ holy day I have walked/ and sung A lady leaning/ from her window watched/ me a long time As I walk- /ed away singing/ Apollinaire".
