Notes
"Yoichi Kenmoku - Japanese artist "OCHIE". A Japanese courtesan reading a book 1981 after woodcut by UTAMARU (c.1974). Kenmoku is a well known Japanese artist, who works in many media, oil painting, copper plate and wood engraving, ceramic engraving. I had difficulty in finding a Japanese artist to cut this plate for me. Fortunately, a friend in Tokyo found him for me. Most Japanese artists are going modern with appalling results artistically". Keith Wingrove in a letter to Roger Butler 2/3/94, see artist's file.
