Notes
Dating of 1965-66 is based on the facts that this work was not included in the Watson edition of 25 in 1965, the first showing at Hungry Horse in March or Philipp catalogues section 15, where"St Francis lying in the wilderness" was listed instead. However, the production descriptors are identical to those for the editon of 25, and it can safely be assumed that it was the same printer. It could have been produced at about the same time or slightly later than the ed. of 25. Copy listed in cat. of Modern Collection, Tate Gallery, London as at 1980. (Notes by K Avent) THIS PRINT IS ONE OF THE NGA REFERENCE SET FOR BOYD'S ST FRANCIS LITHOS
