Subject description
Poster depicting Orkestar Grupa Pecalbari, a musical group of four folk musicians who played traditional instruments from North Macedonia. In the image, Lazo Nikolovski and Linsey Pollak play the gaida bagpipes, Mile Kolarov plays the kaval flute and Chris Gunstone plays the tambura. The group toured for two months in 1979, funded by the Community Arts Board and Music Board of the Australian Council, during which time they performed and instructed folk dance workshops in Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong. In 1980, Orkestar Grupa Pecalbari released the LP ‘Dojdavme: Macedonian Dances’. The record was produced by Graham McDonald and Louise Dauth designed the album cover.
