Abstract

HEAT is a captivating work and a personal recollection of contemporary Bidjara artist Christian Thompson, visiting the harsh Australian desert landscape with his father. Each component of this video triptych contains the face of a young Indigenous woman, representative of a sacred mother-earth, and referencing the seductive and dangerous nature of the Australian landscape.
