Abstract
Celebrating 25 Years of the Perspectives exhibition Year 12 Perspectives showcases work by some of the best, brightest and most talented graduating high school artists in WA, and is a barometer of what our youth are thinking and feeling. In 2017, the Year 12 Perspectives exhibition will celebrate its 25th year and the show will also highlight alumni who have become professional practitioners in the visual arts, including video interviews with previous finalists across the years. 58 works by 57 students from across Western Australia were selected by this year’s judging panel comprised of: Genevie Baker, Coordinator Curriculum K-12, Arts Teaching & Learning Team, Catholic Education; Tarryn Gill, Artist; and Dunja Rmandic, Associate Curator Projects, AGWA. Works span a variety of subject matter and media, ranging from painting and drawing to sculpture, digital moving image, photography and textiles. Prominent themes in this year’s display include social engagement, family and nature. [Gallery media].
