Abstract
South Australia is home to some of the most dynamic and talented of the nation’s artists. This special display coincides with the South Australian Living Artists’ Festival, which celebrates the skill, dynamism and imagination of some of these artists. This annual event features numerous exhibitions in locations throughout the state, as well as a joint publication by Wakefield Press and Arts SA of a monograph on an outstanding South Australian artist. This series assists the ongoing career development and promotion of leading artists in this state. The recipient of this year’s monograph is Angela Valamanesh and her monograph will be available in the Bookshop for just $45.
This selection of works from the Gallery’s collection highlights the diversity of styles and techniques employed by living artists in this state. Paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs and decorative arts by contemporary South Australian artists are always included in the Gallery’s permanent displays and are highlighted throughout the Gallery for the duration of the SALA Festival.
