Abstract

"Bush Colour brings to life for the first time, an exhibition of women's work on paper from the Maningrida region. Large screen prints chart discrete seasonal phases while the drawings and etchings depict plant, animals and objects of material culture encountered in everday bush life, along with mythological figures, that shape and still inhabit the land. In its bold  handerling of subject matter traditionally delt with and discussed by men. The exhibition makes a valuable statement and a resounding impression whlst celebrating the strength and vibrancy of women's art from remote Australia."[blurb]

30 works in pastel on paper, 11 screenprints, 19 etchings and 2 lithographs.
