Abstract

Northern Editions is proud to present a selection of etchings by senior and emerging Tiwi artists published in cooperation with Jilamara Arts and Craft Association.

Wulikija Jilamara means ‘altogether colour’ and celebrates tradition and innovation in Tiwi art. These remarkable etchings were created in 2008 when Leon Stainer from the School of Creative Arts and Humanities at Charles Darwin University delivered a printmaking workshop for the artists at Jilamara Arts and Craft on Melville Island.

The artists represented are Conrad Tipungwuti, Dymphna Kerinauia, Janice Murray, Linus Warlapinni, Mary Magdalene Tipungwuti, Pauletta Kerinauia, Raelene Kerinauia, Timothy Cook and Brian Farmer. [Gallery media, 2009]
