Abstract

Printmaker, painter and sculptor David Frazer uses laconic Australian humor and ambiguous narratives to muse on the human condition. With characteristic imagination and wit, David depicts isolation and rural decline, drawing tension between survival and despair and vitality and emptiness in his finely detailed works. Images of abandonment, alienation and longing are invested with ambiguity, optimism and wry humor. Although his stage is typically Australian, his story is universal. [Gallery media, 2009].
