Abstract

Australian artists produced a remarkable array of cheap, ephemeral productions in the 1970s and 80s. Some were polemical, others political, and some playful. The conventions of the traditional printed and bound book were often challenged, while in other examples new methods of printing, such as photocopying, were used. The exhibition celebrates the energy of these alternative productions.
