Abstract

Artbank, the Australian Government art rental initiative, is at the forefront of collecting contemporary art and craft from Australia's emerging and established Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists. Artbank celebrates a quarter of a century by touring an exhibition of significant artworks acquired from each year of its operation. It includes contemporary abstraction, landscapes, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, glass, photography and sculpture by a number of significant artists. Collected since Artbank's inception in 1980, these works form a distinctive snapshot of the recent art and craft produced in Australia.

An Artbank touring exhibition sponsored by the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts and Visions of Australia. [Gallery media, 2008].
