Abstract

Participating artists: Richard Brown, Bruce Mowson, Csaba Szamosy, Joel Zika and Vince Dziekan.

An exploration of the relationship between the real and the virtual, new media and other artistic traditions. The artworks presented will explore sound, image and interactivity using a range of digital media, including 3D modelling, digital audio and moving image projections. The five pieces will be activated in a highly orchestrated way, creating a sensory environment that explores anticipation, presence and absence, the sublime and the subliminal. A parallel web-exhibition is also planned to coincide with this physical installation.

There may be no better time than now (with virtual technologies inching closer to realization) to rethink what we mean when we talk about pictures and what we are capable of saying with the pictures we create. Ron Burnett, Cultures of Vision, Images, Media, and the Imaginary. [gallery media]
