Focusing on drawing in contemporary practice where artists investigate the medium beyond the traditional use of line on paper, works have been sourced from across various disciplines including art, design and fashion. Using unexpected materials such as dust, light, thread and wood, artists push the idea of drawing beyond usual preconceptions. Some have been created in unusual places; on the back of haulage vans travelling to and from a London market, high above Sydney skyscrapers at night and in the Braille-embossed pages of a Western story. New Drawing presents work by both established and emerging Australian and international artists.
To accompany the exhibition there will be a full colour catalogue designed by Soppcollective. [gallery media]
