Abstract

Artificial Nature 1 concerns the use of digital technologies as creative tools for rethinking art. The current (second) phase of digital thinking has been referred to as 'Post Digital'. Artists, engineers, designers and architects are extending their creativity through the fusion of their minds with the generative potential of digital technologies.

Artificial Nature 1 is coordinated by the Centre for Digital Design, a research centre focusing on the study and development of dynamic immersive information systems and the creative use of digital media. An accompanying symposium on the subject of digitally mediated environments will highlight recent trends in digital design, art and architecture. [gallery media]
