Abstract

Featuring woodblock prints for sale from the beginning of the tradition in Edo period Japan (1600-1867) to contemporary forms. Including works from Hishikawa MORONOBU, Toyoharu KUNICHIKA, Yoshu CHIKANOBU,YOSHITOSHI Tsukioka, YOSHIDA Hiroshi and Kiyoshi SAITO, as well as e-hon (bound books) and shunga (erotic art).   Dr Gary Hickey is a former senior curator of Asian Art at the National Gallery of Australia and holds research and teaching positions in Australian universities. He is also overseas director of the International Ukiyo-e Society. (blurb)
