Abstract

The first public gallery retrospective exhibition of this early Australian Modernist painter highlights her wonderful use of colour and design in a diverse range of media, techniques and subject matter.

The National Gallery School, Melbourne, gave Craig a sound training for her popular flower and portrait studies. However, her association with leading modernists between the wars led her to pursue her art in a deliberately experimental and spontaneous way.[CAG media]
