Abstract

Lionel Lindsay: An Antipodean in Spain presents an extensive selection of Lindsay's images of Spain which focus on its architecture, landscape and people. Images of Australian rural subjects are exhibited alongside, enabling a comparison of Lindsay's treatment of two countries which he thought shared many physical similarities. The range of exhibited material including prints, watercolours, drawings and sketchbooks, provides a fascinating insight into Lindsay's creative process.[NGV media]
