Abstract

Howard Hodgkin is an internationally known painter and printmaker. Born in England in 1932, he is represented in major public collections throughout the world. His impressions of the Indian landscape were realised in a series of screen prints entitled Indian Views followed by a set of five lithographs entitled More Indian Views. The encounters and activities of daily life expressed through sign and symbol have often been Hodgkin's choice of subject matter. (blurb).
