Abstract

'The Pledge - Hutten Greets Sickingen', 1911 by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and 'Collage R', 1920 by Lazslo Moholy-Nagy provided the basis around which the exhibition of works from the collection was developed. The Kirchner was shown alongside works by the other founders of 'Die Brucke', Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Eric Heckel, together with lithographs by Otto Hohlt. These works draw upon the emotional intensity of experience found in all German Expressionist works. (blurb).
